Tearmann Domestic Violence Services, which provides supports to victims of domestic abuse in Cavan and Monaghan, has been awarded €15,000 in funding to help with the provision of its services.
Nationwide, funding of €445,000 will go to 18 organisations to mark International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
Deputy Niamh Smyth has welcomed the funding but highlighted the 'body of work' the Government now has to do to provide refuge for women who find themselves in dangerous and controlling environments.
