The Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD, has announced funding which will allow three local community organisations in Co Monaghan to purchase vehicles for the delivery of essential services.
Funding of €22,400 will be provided for a new van for Castleblayney Trust for delivering meals on wheels to senior citizens and others in need.
Funding of €15,000 is being provided to Cú Chulainn Blood Bikes who transport blood at speed to our local hospitals and funding of €55,848 is being provided to Rockcorry Divers and North Coast Search and Recovery for the purchase of a 4 wheel drive emergency response vehicle.
The funding is being provided as part of Our Rural Future, the Government's National Rural Development Policy.
In total, thirty-seven groups will benefit across the country as part of the €2million national funding announcement.
Minister Humphreys says she is delighted to support these three vital services in the local community. She added that each of the recipients of funding today play a critical role providing essential services to members of the public who are most in need.
