Brigid Mulligan from Co Longford will screen her film titled 'Freebirds' in Clones later this evening. In conjunction with the annual 'Gone But Not Forgotten' Bikers Memorial Mass which will also take place in Clones later this evening, a special public screening of 'Freebirds' will be held at the Court House Cinema in Clones. The first public screening will take place at 5:30pm with the second following at 6:30pm.
According to Brigid, the seed for creating 'Freebirds' came from losing her brother Sean following a fatal motorbike incident in 2002. He was only 21 at the time. Speaking to Northern Sound, Brigid hopes that this evening's screening in Clones will help others who are struggling to cope with the loss of a loved one. She added that the event is a "great way" of bringing people together who may feel isolated in their own grief. "Us being open and willing to talk to each other means that when people come to a Freebirds Motorcycle Club (M.C.C.) event they feel like they can open up and that's worth its weight in gold having those moment when people come up to talk or give you a hug, or whatever it may be," explained Brigid.
