Free parking initiatives in Cavan and Monaghan are back for Christmas.
In Monaghan, all this week, throughout Christmas and up to Tuesday the 2nd of January shoppers can park for free in the town from 12 noon every day.
In Cavan, off-street parking, including for the multi-storey car park is free but, according to Cavan County Council normal charges will apply for all on-street parking.The car parks in Cavan that are free to use this festive peiord include the Courthouse Carpark, Townhall Street Carpark, Main Street Carpark, Bridge Street Carpark, and the Connolly Street Carpark.
Free off street parking in Cavan will be offered from Monday the 23rd of December up to Friday the 27th of December alongside the free car parking at the public car parks in the town.
Normal park charges begin from the 2nd of January in both Cavan and Monaghan.
Chairman of the Chamber's committee Philip Brady says its been a collective effort that has delivered the free parking spaces in Cavan Town.
