Compliplus in Virginia are offering free CPR and AED training. It's a one-evening course and it could save someone's life one day.
The course is run on selected Wednesday evenings between 6:30pm and 10pm and everyone is welcome to attend. Based in Virginia, Compliplus have over 25 years of experience in providing health and safety courses and training.
According to Aisling McGrath from Compliplus it's a way for them to give back to the local community. Aisling says knowing how to use a defibrillator is vital in an emergency: "We're very fortunate in this community here in Virginia in that we have the Lakeside First Responders and the Virginia First Responders group as well," Aisling explained, "So, we do have people in our community who are trained and do use, can and are able to use defibrillators but, we always say it's training for everybody; anybody can learn to do CPR and use a defibrillator - they're not hard. I suppose getting over the fear of using the machines is the big thing and, I suppose the sooner the intervention, the more positive the outcome for people."
