Tributes have been paid to Frank Nulty, who died following a hit-and-run incident in Ballyjamesduff last Friday.
The 57-year-old has been described "as a special person who was lost too soon".
Frank's body was found by a road-user on the N3 near Billis Bridge just after midday last Friday.
It is understood the incident occurred sometime between 10pm on Thursday, August 18th and 12pm on Friday, August 19th.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene, where Frank was pronounced dead.
Following an examination of the area, it was identified that Frank was struck by a vehicle that failed to remain at the scene.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward and any road users with video footage is asked to make this available.
Meanwhile, the Virginia Triathlon and Cycling Club has called Frank a "special person who was lost too soon".
His death notice also says that Frank is deeply regretted by his family and extended family, a wide circle of friends, and colleagues of Kyte Powertech.
Employees at Cavan-based Kyte Powertech, including Mr Nulty, were due to undertake strike action at the distribution transformer supplier company on Friday.
However, workers suspended their strike action following confirmation of the tragic incident.
Management and staff at Kyte Powertech have extended their "deepest sympathies to Frank Nulty’s family, loved ones and everyone in Drumfomina".
In a statement to Northern Sound, Kyte Powertech added that "Frank was a valued colleague for 14 years, a friend to many and will be deeply missed".
Frank's funeral mass will take place tomorrow at 11am in St. Mary's Church, Clonaphilip, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
