Four new speed cameras will go live across Cavan and Monaghan this morning as Gardai and the Road Safety Authority encourage drivers to lower their speed.
With 56 zones already in place locally, there will now be additional cameras on the R212 Ballyhaise to Cavan Road, and at two locations on the N3 - from Butlersbridge to Cullies Cemetery and from the Hotel Kilmore to Poles.
The R179 road from Carrickmacross to Magheracloone is the only new zone in Monaghan.
The changes are among 61 new cameras spread around 23 counties with the majority on regional and national routes.
It comes after 5 people were killed on Irish roads over the weekend, bringing the total number of those who died in traffic accidents this year to 94.
