Gardaí in Bailieborough arrested a total of four drivers on suspicion of driving while under the influence on Saturday night.
According to local Gardaí, one learner permit holder who was driving unaccompanied failed a roadside drug test, testing positive for cocaine and cannabis.
Another learner permit holder was stopped and failed the roadside drug test for cannabis.
Meanwhile, two other drivers were also arrested for similar offences, one for drunk driving and the other for drug driving.
Gardaí in Bailieborough have described the behaviour of the four offenders as "reckless" adding that they did not consider the possible consequences of their actions.
As a result, Gardaí have advised motorists to never get behind the wheel when under the influence of either drink or drugs in a bid to limit the potential of serious fatalities on local roads.
