Members of the country's defence forces should not be called into provide security at Dublin Airport.
That's according to Donnacha - a former soldier from Monaghan - who spoke to Shannonside Northern Sound this week about the DAA's plan to recruit soldiers at the facility.
Donnacha says pay restoration for members has not been forthcoming and their safety at the airport will be compromised due to the latest wave of Covid-19, and the fact that people have stopped wearing masks.
He added that members were entitled to the same protections "as everyone else" in the country, but the State shows "very little respect" for them.
Donnacha also pointed out that loyalty was to the fore in the defence forces and the establishment of a union to fight for pay and conditions was "out of the question".
