The former president of St Macartan's College in Monaghan, Monsignor Sean Cahill, has died at the age of 86.
He was ordained a priest in 1960, and at the same time joined the teaching staff at the school.
Monsignor Cahill served as president of the college from 1974 to 1981, and then as Parish Priest of Enniskillen until his retirement in 2007.
In later life he ministered to the people of Maguiresbridge in Fermanagh, and served as Vicar-General of Clogher.
Bishop of Clogher Larry Duffy has paid tribute, saying he "was one of the giants of the diocese in his time".
Monsignor Cahill died yesterday after a long illness and his funeral will take place in Enniskillen on Friday.
