A Monaghan GAA figure has hit out at online trolls over the abuse players and management receive on social media.
Former Monaghan senior manager, Seamus 'Banty' McEneaney spoke about the downside of being a public figure on today's Joe Finnegan Show.
After stepping down from his county role in recent weeks, the Corduff clubman believes online abuse is getting all too common and described it as "very disappointing".
While 'Banty' revealed that he "does not care" about the opinions of others apart from stakeholders and the group he is with, the Monaghan businessman acknowledged the impact such abuse could have on others.
As a result, he believes it is important for clubs to instil that it "does not matter" what others think, adding that his "biggest worry" is the mental health of players and their families:
