A yellow warning for heavy rainfall will be in place for Cavan and Monaghan for most of today.
The warning is in place until 9pm tonight across Connacht, the midlands and along the border.
The UK Met Office also has warnings in place for all of Northern Ireland.
Met Éireann says up to 50 millimetres of rain could fall in places, and there's a risk of some rivers overflowing.
