A new service for young people struggling with Alcohol or Drug addiction has officially been launched for Cavan and Monaghan.
Monaghan and Cavan Youth Substance Support is an initiative to support young people between the the ages of 12 and 18 with alcohol or drug issues. Cavan and Monaghan, up until now, have had no youth service to provide counselling or referrals for these specific issues. Resources for parents are also now available on the newly launched website.
CEO of Alcohol Forum Ireland, Paula Leonard, says their delighted to be able to provide the region's only under 18 drug and alcohol support service.
"Cavan and Monaghan never had an under-18 service previously so it's great. There are only a small number of children and young people who would require that but it's great to be a part of that service development in Cavan and Monaghan. We're very proud to be the organisation leading out on that under MaCYSS"
