The first sheltered accommodation for the elderly in Monaghan could be developed in Castleblayney.
At a recent meeting of the Carrickamacross-Castleblayney MD councillors were told that work is on-going by the housing section to evaluate if the former fire station could be used for this purpose.
The executive stated that the vacant building is a ‘prime location’, and funding would be sought if the feasibility study gives the go ahead.
