The first phase of rolling out the National Broadband Plan in Monaghan has got underway.
National Broadband Ireland are currently surveying townlands across the county to enable design solutions for the provision of a fibre network.
46 per cent of properties in County Monaghan are marked as Intervention Areas and will see €60 million worth of investment in internet framework.
Separately, work is underway at over 300 locations around the country for Broadband Connection Points, which will deliver connectivity to local communities through GAA clubs and community centres.
