The first cross-border Industry Insights session for teachers and guidance counsellors took place recently. 'Industry Insights for Teachers' is an initiative funded by the Department of Education to provide key observations on global business initiatives for post-primary teachers.
It also allows for collaboration between teachers and the corporate world and provides students with up-to-date information and advice on industry developments, and opportunities for future employment.
Minister for Education, Norma Foley, said that students are now receiving a 21st century education that arms them with the tools needed for competitiveness in the global marketplace. She added the importance of teachers and guidance counsellors being aware of business evolution and the skills today’s students need to succeed in their careers.
