Monaghan Fire Service is being praised for its quick response to a wildfire on Sliabh Beagh at the weekend.
On Sunday afternoon, a fire broke out on An Taisce land on the north Monaghan mountain.
It's estimated that 2 acres of ground was scorched at Barratitoppy Upper, with investigations continuing into the ignition source.
People are being reminded that it's illegal to deliberately start fires between March and September, and such incidents can put wildlife and habitats at risk.
