A fire at a restaurant in Monaghan Town earlier resulted in a full scale evacuation of offices and apartments above the town centre premises.
Fire crews from Ballybay and Monaghan Town were in attendance at the blaze that broke out shortly after 10.30 am.
Firefighters in Body Armour and using thermal image cameras extinguished the fire in the ground level restaurant.
People living and working locally were all safely evacuated from the neighbouring buildings.
Speaking to Northern Sound News, Monaghan fire service confirmed on arrival an evacuation of the building was underway and no injuries were sustained as a result of the blaze.
Fire crews searched the building to make sure it was fully vacated and local fire crews extinguished the fire before midday.
Extensive damage has been done to the front of the building along with smoke damage internally.
