A fire that broke out at a well-known restaurant in Ballinagh this afternoon has been brought under control.
It's understood the fire started on the ground floor of Luna Blú on the Dublin Road in the town. Fire engines from Cavan Town, Belturbet, Killeshandra, and Ballyjamesduff along with Gardaí and ambulance services were in attendance. No injuries have been reported at this time and traffic controls were put in place to assist the quenching of the fire. It's believed the building has suffered extensive damage.
Ballinagh Councillor, Winston Bennett, says seeing a local business go up in flames is terrible to witness.
"It's just devastating for them and the families and to everyone who's around Ballinagh because we are delighted to see new businesses coming and starting up in the town. This is the last thing anyone in the area would want to see happen"
