The North-East Pylon Pressure Campaign has welcomed Fine Gael's call for "one final review" into the undergrounding of the North-South Interconnector.
Senator Regina Doherty proposed the motion at a recent parliamentary party meeting.
It requests that the Transport Minister Eamon Ryan "consider undertaking one final review of undergrounding the North-South Interconnector before EirGrid commences any tender process or works".
The NEPPC has thanked Senator Doherty for proposing the motion and "ensuring the issue was given priority for discussion".
A similar motion was passed last week at the Fianna Fáil Parliamentary Party meeting.
The NEPPC says it's "high time the Green party has a rethink about how out of step the steel and concrete-laden overhead lines and pylons are with their green agenda".
