The Finance Bill will pass all stages in the Dáil later. The bill gives power to the Budget, and is one of the last pieces of business the Government expects to conclude.
Political Correspondent, Seán Defoe, reports: "It's a busy day in Dáil Eireann with the Finance Bill set to be passed, the Occupied Territories Bill up for mention, and legislation to ban the sale of tobacco to under 21s also being finalised. This morning Cabinet meets with a lighter agenda than usual, with no party bringing forward major legislation that could rock the boat before the vote.
"While politicians here prepare for the Irish election - one eye will be on the US today and what that outcome could mean for Ireland - with Green Party leader Roderic O'Gorman saying a Trump win would be a disaster for Ireland."
