The twelve finalists have been revealed for the Farney Foundation Co Monaghan People of the Year Awards 2024. Nominations closed on Friday, with the 12 finalists announced on today's Wider View programme by Brian Rudden who is the Founder of the Farney Foundation.
The final twelve of the Farney Foundation County Monaghan People of the Year Awards 2024 are. Cars, Bikes and Coffee, based in Monaghan, Daire Gorman, Tonniscoffey; Janet Hill, Oram; Heather Humphreys, Aghabog; Áine Kerr, Dublin; Mary Lamb, Scotstown; Mairead Liston, London; Martin Maguire, Monaghan; Colm McEneaney, Carrickmacross; Elizabeth McGuinnesss, Monaghan; Shane McGurk, Aughnamullen; and the Wallace Family, Castleshane.
The black tie event will take place at the The Hillgrove Hotel on Saturday the 22nd of February. The Farney Foundation was founded by local man Brian Rudden and is a non-profit entity that promotes and supports anyone and anything associated with Co. Monaghan all over the world. Anyone who has, or who has ever had, a connection with County Monaghan was eligible to be nominated. Speaking to Northern Sound earlier today, Brian Rudden said on the night a cheque will be given to the winner for a charity or cause of their choice. The first of its kind for Co Monaghan, Brian hopes that this will be the first of many for the Farney Donation in the years to come; "
