Fifty per cent reduction in fire service callouts in Monaghan this Halloween

There was a fifty percent reduction in fire service callouts in Monaghan this Halloween weekend.

Monaghan Fire and Civil Protection says that a combination of public advice and the weather resulted in a smaller number of incidents requiring their assistance compared to previous years.

It's estimated that there were half the callouts in the county compared to other Halloween weekends.

Of callouts received, they mostly involved the fire service assisting Gardai.
