Almost 2,900 homes, businesses and farms in rural areas surrounding Kilnaleck, will be able to connect to fibre broadband on the National Broadband Ireland network in coming months.
The area also includes the rural surrounds of Kilnaleck, Ballymachugh and Ballyjamesduff.
17,000 premises across Cavan are included in the State's Intervention Area, which will see NBI deliver minimum speeds of 500 megabites per second.
As the biggest investment in rural Ireland since rural electrification, Cavan as a whole will receive €65M of Government investment under the National Broadband Plan.
