A festival on wheels is set to travel the Northern Sound region in the coming weeks aimed at people in care and nursing homes, and community groups.
Festival in a Van takes a new collaboration with Poetry Ireland on the road this August, gathering together seven of Ireland's most lauded poets and ten of the country's best traditional Irish musicians for a tour to seven counties over sixteen days.
Organisers are hoping to bring joy to people in care and nursing homes, and community groups across Cavan, Monaghan, Roscommon and Longford.
In Monaghan, the van pulls up to three locations; two private gigs at the Castleross Care Home in Tullyvaragh and at St. Ann's Care Home in Ballybay along with two public gigs at Rossmore Forest Park which will be held from 4.30pm on Monday the 21st of August.
In Cavan the van pulls up to three locations that are all private gigs; at Clogher House Day Activation Unit; the Virginia Day Activation Unit and the Irish Wheelchair Association in Cavan town, all the Cavan locations will be held on Tuesday the 22nd of August.
Elizabeth Mohen who is the Director of Festival in a Van says it a wonderful initiative that will benefit so many in the region.
