A Fermanagh MLA has spoken out in relation to reports of a "suspicious object" being left at the side of rural road in the border region.
Police are currently investigating a report that a suspicious object was left in the Lettergreen Road/ Moorlough Road area of Newtowbutler, County Fermanagh.
The Moorlough Road (A34) between Newtownbutler and Donagh remains closed at this time, while local police continue to implement a security operation.
According to Chief Inspector Rory Hoy, PSNI received the report by a member of the public yesterday afternoon.
Inspector Hoy had also appealed to members of the public to avoid the area at present.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Fermanagh and South Tyrone MLA, Aine Murphy who is in close contact with police over the matter, has condemned such behaviour and believes those involved in leaving the reported device have "no consideration" for local families and communities.
The Lisnaskea MLA, added that the incident caused "major disruption" this morning for many people trying to access their place of work, deliver goods and also essential services throughout local communities, and believes this added stress "is not" what people want or need right now:
