Feile Oriel and the Fiddle of Oriel competition will return to Monaghan this weekend. With a spectacular line-up of events, this year's three-day festival is programmed to be bigger and better than ever before.
Speaking to Northern Sound, organiser Elizabeth McGuinness said the event is all about "spreading the love" and bringing back a "vibrant musical festival"
Elizabeth said the festival will give a statement of "who we are" and why the people of Monaghan are so good at what they do in terms of traditional music.
Elizabeth added that people from right across the county are invited to come along and see what Monaghan has to offer. "We're actually encouraging people who want to come in their camper vans, we're providing parking facilities at Coral Leisure fpr them to park up," Elizabeth revealed.
"We're also running a shuttle bus to take people to and from the villages if they want to hear music outside of the seven venues we have in Monaghan town, so people can move around the different sessions throughout the day."
