There's still a sense of optimism that a deal on the Northern Ireland protocol can be done this week. Tanaiste Michael Martin met the EU's chief Brexit negotiator Maros Sefcovic in Brussels last night, however there is now growing concern that an announcement will be delayed.
The British Prime Minister has hit a stumbling block with euro-sceptics in his Tory party unhappy with the latest developments. Chief Brussels Correspondent with Politico, Suzanne Lynch, says Rishi Sunak has a fight on his hands.
"There are up to 100 Tory MPs who could vote against this if it goes to a vote; we don't know if it will go to a vote. Sunak as the Prime Minister can decide to go ahead with this but if he does go to a vote and hundreds of Tories go against him, he will obviously be weakened," she added
