Daniel Lavelle was a 40-year-old married man and father of five from the Donagh area of Co. Fermanagh.

The father-of-five who died at the scene of a road traffic collision near Lisnaskea yesterday has been named as Daniel Lavelle. Mr Lavelle was a 40-year-old married man and father from the Donagh area of Co. Fermanagh.

He coached a local girls' soccer team and was a past pupil of Ballagh and Donagh Primary School. Friends and neighbours have been paying their condolences to Mr Lavelle's wife, Eilish, their children and extended family. One online post simply reads "So awful. So cruel."

A PSNI statement said Mr Lavelle died at the scene of the collision with a lorry on the Crom Road, Lisnaskea at around 5:30pm yesterday evening. The driver of the lorry, a 48-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody at this time. Roads Inspector Cherith Adair from the PSNI's Collision Investigation Unit wants to hear from witnesses or anyone who may have captured dash-cam or other footage to get in touch with police on 101 or online.
