Farmers want to get involved in protecting local water sources.
That's according to Sean Corrigan, who is the Source Protection Officer for the national federation of Group Water Schemes.
He says "farmers often get criticised in the media", but added that "every farmer" he has spoken to wants to help out as much as they can.
Source protection projects are in place across Co Cavan, including the Erne Valley and Crosserlough catchments, and Sean Corrigan says farmers are sometimes giving up land to help protect local water sources.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Sean says the Group Water Scheme approach is based on "inclusion and engagement", and is not about "giving out to people":
