Farmers in Cavan and Monaghan have been "moved" by the devastation caused following the invasion of Ukraine.
This is according to former Macra president, Thomas Duffy, who is behind a new initiative, Farmers4Ukraine.
Farmers4Ukraine allows the farming community in Ireland to come together in support of their Ukrainian counterparts.
It was established in conjunction with the five farming organisations here and in partnership with Concern.
Mr Duffy says there is a "kinship of sorts" with Ukrainian farmers.
"There has been initiatives with Dairy farmers and the Lebanon in the past, for example, in the past," he continued.
"Ukraine is a very agrarian community.
"We have seen quite a lot of attention paid to the agricultural output of the Ukraine.
And there is a familiarity there for many of us."
