Significant farm yard fire near Carrickmacross

Crews from Carrickmacross and Castleblayney attended a significant farm yard fire this evening.

Crews worked from 4:30pm to 8pm at Rathmore, Donaghmoyne to tackle the blaze.

For a time smoke was billowing on to the N2 from the fire from the agricultural buildings.

Fire crews deployed Breathing Apparatus teams and used Compressed Air Foam to bring the fire under control.

The fire was brought under control and eventually extinguished by 8pm this evening.
