The family of a Co Fermanagh man who went missing in Lough Erne has urged the public to not give up hope.
On the afternoon of Saturday October 29th, Michael McGirr also known as 'Mac' set off by boat on Lough Erne from Enniskillen, heading to pick up his friends at Rossigh Jetty and then on to Inish Davar and has been missing since then.
While PSNI, mountain search and rescue teams continue investigations, members of the wider community have also turned out in their droves in search of Michael.
In a statement posted to social media, Michael's family said they are desperate to find him and bring him home.
Adding that they are "broken hearted" knowing this story will have no happy ending.
As a result, Michael's family are appealing for anyone who can spare any time, whether on a boat or walking along the shoreline, to please volunteer.
His family are expecting the Lough to "give up Mac any day now," according to those who have experience and expertise of searches like this.
The statement concluded, "We need people standing on the shorelines keeping watch over the water, we need people walking the shorelines, we need people in boats out on the Lough. Hopefully it doesn’t need to be said that every single person should prioritise their own safety, and take no risks on water or land."
