The family of Shane O’Farrell met yesterday with the Taoiseach Micheal Martin and Justice Minister Helen McEntee. Their focus was on discussing the scoping report into the circumstances around Shane’s death 11 years ago.
23-year-old Shane O'Farrell was killed by a man - who was out on bail at the time - while cycling near his home in Carrickmacross on the 2nd of August 2011. The O'Farrell family has long campaigned for a public inquiry into the circumstances leading to Shane's death.
The Taoiseach’s office confirmed to Northern Sound earlier that a lengthy discussion took place with the O’Farrell family yesterday afternoon. A spokesperson added that the Taoiseach and Minister for Justice will now "consider" matters over the coming days.
