The family of a Killeevan man seriously injured in a farm accident last year are a step closer to getting him back home.
In April, Jonathan Mulligan received serious head injuries when he came off his quad, and since then has been recovering in hospital.
A fundraiser to help get him back home for the next stage of his rehabilitation has raised over €100,000 so far after friends organised raffles and other events.
Giving an update on New Year's Day, the Mulligan family said Jonny is now due to have intense rehabilitation and surgery.
They added that planning approval for an extension to their home has also been approved, meaning work can now begin on adapting it ahead of his arrival back in Monaghan.
