Families of the disappeared 'need answers'

Remains which are believed to be that of Joe Lynskey were taken from a single grave at Annyalla Cemetery yesterday morning.

A woman who works with families of the disappeared has highlighted their plea for answers. Dr Sandra Peake is CEO of the WAVE Trauma Centre which has supported families of the Disappeared since 1995.

The Independent Commission for the Location of Victims’ Remains (ICLVR) believe they have found the body of disappeared IRA victim Joe Lynskey buried in the grave of another person in Co Monaghan. A number of sets of remains were removed from a family grave plot from Annyalla graveyard yesterday morning. While the process of identification could take a number of days or weeks, Sandra highlighted the importance of returning those who are disappeared back to their families. Speaking to Northern Sound, Sandra said that anyone with information in relation to the Lynskey case or any other should come forward:
