Families of students attending Largy College have started a campaign for a second bus route to ensure everyone gets a seat.
More than 40 parents from the Aghabog and Killeevan areas on Monaghan have signed their name on the petition.
One bus serviced the area last year, however capacity issues meant that not all concessionary ticket holders could travel to Clones.
The difference in distance between the designated school assigned by Bus Eireann and Largy College is said to be very small, and there are concerns that students could be forced to move schools if transport to Clones isn't secured.
Sinn Fein's Pat Treanor commended the parents for being proactive in their approach, and said he hopes Bus Eireann will consider it
