A major extension to Our Lady's Secondary School in Castleblayney has been given the go ahead.
The three-storey extension will consist of a total of 13 new classrooms and other spaces.
Approval for the project was granted by the Department in June of last year.
When complete it will see nine new classrooms, an art lab, two science labs, a technology room and preparation rooms.
The extension will be built to the side and rear of the school.
A planning application was submitted for the project in September and permission has now been granted by Monaghan County Council.
The school has described the news as "exciting times".
