"Every avenue should be explored" in keeping an autism unit at a north Monaghan school open.
That's according to a local councillor who has called on the Departments of Education and Office of Public Works for funding supports.
The "Le Cheile" ASD Unit at Edenmore National School is set to close, after planning permission was refused for a permanent building at the site late last year.
Planners noted that there's a flood risk at the school, and the existing temporary building would need to close as well.
Councillor Paudge Connolly said the unit shouldn't be closed until every attempt to keep it open has been exhausted.
