A fundraising event will be held tonight at Saint Mellan's GAA Complex for the renovation of the Holy Family Church in Ballyoisin.
The North Monaghan church was built over 200 years ago and now requires a major renovation.
A comprehensive report carried out in 2017 highlighted a risk to health and safety and in turn was forced to close its doors. A night of variety and culture is organised for this evening and it is promised to be a night of entertainment to launch this event for the local church repairs. Local councillor Brian McKenna says the church plays a vital role in the community and welcomes plans for restoration of the two centuries old building.
