The EU has taken steps this week to address a number of issues around the controversial Mercosur Deal before it proceeds to ratification stage.
The deal, between the EU and south American countries, is being criticised by politicians and farm organisations across Ireland.
They say it will have a negative impact on both the environment, and on livelihoods here.
IFA's Ulster/North Leinster chairman and Monaghan Pig farmer, Frank Brady, says it's a deal that simply "cannot be signed off on".
He highlighted how it would send Irish farmers "down the swanny" and put people's wellbeing at risk because health and safety standards around food production in south America are way below par.
