Hair salons and barbers in the North say they are inundated with requests from the Republic for appointments.
They are due to reopen in Northern Ireland on Friday, while there has been no date set for the Republic.
That has drawn criticism from some who claimed people, particularly those in border areas, would travel north for appointments.
Publicans last week called for clarity on when they would be able to open in the south.
