Plans for recreational enhancements to Dartrey Forest Park in Co Monaghan have passed through part 8 planning stages. The update was revealed at this week’s sitting of Monaghan County Council. The works will see improvements carried out to the existing car-park area and the provision of directional signage, marker posts, trailhead maps, picnic tables, wooden seating and natural play seats.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Richard Truell believes this exciting new project will “enhance tourism” and help Dartrey Forest Park reach its full potential. He described Dartrey Forest as a very “historical” amenity which already attracts visitors from far and wide.
