The National Lottery are continuing to urge Lotto players in Monaghan to check their tickets very carefully from the 19th of August draw which saw one Emyvale player become a millionaire.
The Lotto Plus Raffle typically sees between 60 and 120 winners of €500 in every draw but that particular draw saw one player enjoy an even higher windfall due to a special Raffle event.
Each of the tickets with the winning Lotto Plus Raffle number drawn in the Saturday 19th August draw were entered into a once-off random draw where one ticket was selected to win an additional prize of €1 million. While every ticket holder who had the winning Raffle number won €500, one player scooped €1 million, in addition to the usual €500 prize.
The winning Raffle number was: 3249 and the winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on Thursday 17th August at Centra on Main Street in Emyvale.
Shop owner Glyn Williams is now encouraging all of his customers to check their tickets as soon as possible as one player is now a millionaire; "It’s been three weeks since the big draw and there’s still a lot of excitement around the town about the win.
"We have had customers in to congratulate us for selling the golden ticket and of course to check their own tickets. We just hope that the winner does make contact with the National Lottery soon and collect their prize. They might not even know that they have a ticket that’s now worth €1 million. If they haven’t realized their luck just yet, they are in for a huge surprise."
