Members of the Emy Lough dippers will take part in the 'Dip in the Nip' charity event this Sunday. The Monaghan group consisting of 18 women are all taking part in aid of raising essential funds for the Cancer Unit in Drogheda Hospital.
Roisin Keenan founded the group and is taking part in the charity initiative this Sunday.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Ms Keenan said that everyone has been touched by cancer unfortunately in some way or another. She added that Sunday's event is a "fantastic way" for the local swimming group to raise some much needed funds for such a worthy cause that has changed the lives of many.
"The group was established last June and we've been doing cold water dipping ever since," Roisin explained. "It's a wonderful group of women and it's a great way to give back."
