Nationwide, 415 people in total are waiting for beds across EDs in the country.

12 patients were on trolleys in the ED at Cavan General Hospital this morning.

All of the nine Cavan patients in Cavan are waiting on trolleys in the emergency department.

There are no patients waiting in wards elsewhere in Cavan General Hospital. 

Nationally, 513 people in total are being treated on trolleys today.

Councillor said overcrowding is hospitals, and especially A & Es is in part, down to people abusing the system.

Deputy Tully says that the Government has abandoned patients and workers in Cavan-Monaghan to Emergency Department chaos.

The local Emergency Department is experiencing high volumes of patients.
