Eirgrid has requested a meeting with Monaghan County Council to establish a traffic management plan.
Members of Monaghan County Council were informed of the correspondence following a question by Sinn Fein's Noel Keelan in relation to the status of the North South Interconnector.
The executive told members that they were obliged to facilitate the meeting with Eirgrid, however, there was no date set.
Councillor Keelan reiterated his objection to the project stating that Minister Eamon Ryan has 'undue power' over the project and questioned why he won't support projects they want for the county but will support this controversial development.
It was decided at the January meeting of the council that they would re-write to all local Oireachtas members to establish their position on the interconnector development.
