Eighth spot in IBAL 'a fantastic achievement' for Monaghan town

Monaghan Town ranked 8th place out of 40 towns in the Irish Business against Litter Report 2022. The local town continued to excel in the rankings after it was surveyed in the national An Taisce survey and graded 'Cleaner than European Norms'.

Works and improvements will continue to be done throughout the town, especially in the areas which received a lesser grade. Monaghan County Council described the ranking of 8th place as a "fantastic progression and achievement" after the town was ranked 20th out of 40 in 2021.
