The Little Blue Heroes Foundation has extended a "heartfelt thank you" to what they call the "incredible" legal community and individuals in Cavan and Monaghan for generous donations to help local children.
Cavan / Monaghan Gardaí paid tribute to the High Nelly Cycle in Ballyjamesdufff, the ATA Group in Cavan and the Fitzpatrick's, also in Balljamesduff, for raising enough money to purchase two specialist wheelchairs for local children with additional needs. There are 16 wheelchair users among the 26 Cavan/Monaghan Honorary Gardaí Division or Little Blue Heroes.
The new all-terrain wheelchairs "will allow local seriously ill children the freedom to enjoy the simple joy of taking part in a family walk in one of our beautiful local parks and forests, or a day at the beach with their families" an online Garda post reads. Fitzpatrick's in Ballyjamesduff raffled two Taylor Swift tickets to raise funds. An Garda Síochána also thanked Judge Raymond Finnegan, court staff and solicitors, who also "made a world of difference to our local families".
