A Monaghan professor says easing restrictions in “baby steps” will prevent Ireland having a fourth wave of Covid-19.
The country is currently entering a phased reopening of society from level five restrictions, with a number of measures being relaxed over the coming weeks.
RSCI Professor Sam McConkey says the vaccination roll-out, along with specific restrictions for close and casual contacts of daily cases could allow everyone to have more freedom.
He told Shannonside Northern Sound a repeat of the spike seen in December and January can be avoided.
